AGM

We held our AGM on 26 January at the Knebworth Novotel, for those of you not attending I can report that the meeting was better attended than last year and we had two guests in the form of Nicola Heron from the National Board and Jonny Johnson from the SE Region in attendance to answer questions – there were many as you can imagine.

As a result of discussions at the AGM it was decided that all trophies won in county competitions this year (2009) will be presented at our next AGM. We therefore would like to request that all trophies be returned in good order, please give them to a member of the Hertfordshire County Committee at your earliest convenience.

A key question raised from the floor was that of multiple copies of Pull! Magazine being delivered to households containing multiple CPSA members and as an association we should be doing all we can to save money – how can Head Office reduce this?
Another member at the meeting stated that he had the same problem, but called Head Office and asked for only one copy to be delivered, which they duly did, so if you have the same problem - call Head Office, the system works sometimes!

A member raised the question – there is little content or photographs in the Hertfordshire Column why are we wasting the space we are allocated?

I will repeat my plea issued every other month in Pull! – if you want content in the magazine I need to see it or know about it I cannot read the ether these days, I am too old! Seriously though everyone has a camera on their mobile and texting me a few words or even the winners name is a start. As a committee we would love to be able to send a professional photographer / reporter to all the competitions in the county but we just cannot afford it.

During the meeting the problem surrounding attracting more youngsters into the sport was raised, Martin Barker said that to encourage more participation he was willing to coach small groups of junior Trap shooters free of charge for an hour if they were entering Intercounty Competitions to shoot for Hertfordshire – while they pay for their clays and cartridges (juniors pay half-price for clays at Nuthampstead), Ken Rist said that he would match Martins offer to coach junior Sporting shooters if they were booked in with him.
